Mount Vernon At Home

 

For the past 20+ years, Sarah's work and volunteer experience has been focused on serving older adults.  Her previous jobs include six years with Goodwin House at Home, a program designed to support and assist older adults to remain in their homes as they age.  Prior to Goodwin House at Home, Sarah worked for Senior Services of Alexandria, where she assisted in the launch and management of the Friendly Visitor Program.  She also conceived, developed, and managed the Groceries2Go program which provides grocery shopping services for older adults living in the City of Alexandria who are no longer able to shop for themselves.  Both programs rely heavily on volunteers.  Sarah also worked for many years as a Community Liaison for Americare in Home Nursing.  Americare was a Medicare certified home health care agency which provided in home skilled nursing as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapy services.  Sarah graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire with a B.S. in Health Care Administration and is currently pursuing an M.S. degree in Nutrition Education at American University.  She lives in the City of Alexandria with her husband and has three daughters who live locally.
